Ada is named after Ada Lovelace (1815–1852) — mathematician, visionary, and the world's first computer programmer. In 1843 she wrote the first published algorithm designed to be executed by a machine, and envisioned that computing could go far beyond arithmetic — composing music, manipulating symbols, and reasoning about the world.
